Thomas Rodney (1744-1811) was a farmer, soldier, and jurist in Dover, Del. and Philadelphia, and the brother of Caesar Rodney, signer of the Declaration of Independence. Thomas Rodney was appointed justice of the peace in Dover in 1770, served as captain in the Delaware militia during the battles of Trenton and Princeton, and as justice of the admiralty court, 1778-1785, and member of the Confederation Congress, 1781-1788.
